Flappy Charizard
Coding Camp
Design your (Pokémon) Coding game!

Designing your own game!
In this holiday camp, students will be introduced to Tynker and the popular Flappy Bird game with a Pokemon twist. They will learn game design principles and core concepts of a side scroller, endless runner game.
Students will design sounds, obstacles, coins, and levels for their own game, with a focus on coding interactions between the main character, Charizard, and various game elements like enemies, coins, and obstacles using concepts such as gravity, randomness, loops, and variables.

Develop and Present
Additionally, students will deepen their understanding of game design by exploring variables and creating randomly appearing obstacles. They will have the opportunity to enhance their games with animations and sound effects, fostering creativity and individuality.
Towards the end, students will share and play each other's games, gathering feedback to improve interactivity and user-friendliness. Finally, a final presentation will allow classmates to critique the games, emphasizing the importance of game testing in development and further inspiring improvements based on the feedback received.
