Build it. Code it. Grab it.
What if your child could build their very own robotic claw machine?
In this exciting 2-day holiday camp, students will use LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime to build and programme a working robotic claw machine through hands-on robotics, coding and engineering challenges.
What’s in store?
🤖 Build a working robotic claw machine using LEGO SPIKE Prime.
⚙️ Discover how motors, sensors and mechanical structures work together.
💻 Learn coding through sequences, loops and conditional statements.
🛠️ Test & improve the robot through hands-on engineering challenges.
🎯 Present & demonstrate their completed creation
Learning Objectives
🤖 Robotics & Engineering
Understand how motors, sensors, mechanics and coding work together.
💻 Coding & Computational Thinking
Learn sequences, loops, conditions and logical problem-solving.
🛠️ Design & Problem-Solving
Test, debug and improve their robotic claw machine.
🤝 Teamwork & Creativity
Work together to develop creative engineering solutions.
🎯 Confidence Through Making
Build, programme and present a working robotic creation.

Day 1:
Discover how robotic arms and claw machines work!
Students will:
🔧 Build their own robotic claw machine using LEGO SPIKE Prime
⚙️ Learn how motors and mechanical parts create movement
🦾 Build the claw and lifting mechanism
💻 Programme the robot to open, close and grab objects
🧪 Test their robot and make improvements
Key Learning
Robotics Mechanical Design • Motors • Basic Coding
Day 2:
Code, Test and Master the Claw
💻 Programme more advanced movements and controls
🔄 Use loops and conditions to make the robot respond to instructions
🎯 Test the claw by grabbing and moving different objects
🛠️ Debug, refine and improve their robot
🏆 Take on the final Robotic Claw Machine Challenge
🤝 Work together to solve engineering challenges
Key Learning
Problem-Solving • Testing & Optimisation • Teamwork

This programme is delivered in collaboration with The Lab and comprises the use of predictive data analytics and educational psychology to develop a customized Coding curriculum for students.
